These engines have been at this location for a long time now, and are now pretty beat up. I would guess they will eventually be scrapped as the cost of moving them to a sight that they could be re-built would be cost prohibitive. Not sure who owns them now or why they where dragged out to this location.

I am pretty sure that 3rd unit back is the SP 4451, one of the former commute locomotives. It's sister, the 4450 is (or was?) at Portola but is going to be scrapped as well. I always hoped those two would be brought together and preserved at some point, but it seems pretty doubtful now. I guess you can't save everything.

I also wish these two B&LE units could be saved seems a real shame. I guess not everything can be saved though. Thanks for pic !
