What a classic photo. With the F7, the semaphore, the depot, the telegraph lines and the snow, what's not to love?

Absolutely beautiful picture there. I have been in Kirkland many times and wondered who the original railroad was and where the station used to be. All that remains is 1 of the 2 mains and the siding. Next time I am there will have to take a closer look and see what I can see. Thank-you for this nice insight into Kirkland and My Milwaukee road.

The semaphores are, of course, the order boards.

It's "corny", I know, but this image brings to mind the words of the old holiday song . . ."Dashing thru the snow, in an ancient EMD . . ."

What a wonderful image! Sure miss that era when there were so many different carriers and color schemes such as on those Fs.

Only us crazy rail fans go out in weather like this to take pictures. Thanks for posting this great shot.
