Anyone know what the laundry list is this get this thing running ? Time frame ? Wish they could get 1218 running, pull longer trains with it.

I don't know all of what needs to be done, but as of 8/23 the time frame was still 6 to 9 months.

It is so neat to see a streamlined steam locomotive without her smooth and fancy outer streamlined skin. It lets you see what's under the 'hood' and to see how she really looks! You can see how they attach the streamlining sheet metal and her feed water heater. Thanks for sharing!

I'm hoping that the museum will start restoration on the Amtrak diesel after finishing the steam engine's restoration.

As of September 23rd, the restoration is 45% complete.
