In the numerous photos from out here in the southwest USA, you frequently see the entire mile long trains as they come towards the photographer. I really enjoyed the simplicity of your photo. You had to be very alert for the arrival of that train to frame it the way you did with the tunnel itself and the tree branches. Excellent pic. A PC from me.

Georg, I think you have been spending too much time with Jean-Marc Frybourg! Spectacular shot.

Wonderful image. I wonder if the train was moving or posed?

The train was moving about 40 km/h, but could be heard very shortly before leaving the tunnel..

To Eugene: No, we have not spent time together (unfortunately) although we happened to be at the same location at the same time on several occasions (without even meeting!). And to your comment, I should say that Georg having the good fortune to be Swiss, and I am French living in Paris, a bit far from Switzerland, he is more the master and I am the student when it comes to rail pictures in Switzerland than the other way round! A big thank you to Georg for posting such wonderful pictures of the wonderful Swiss trains.

At first glance, I thought this was a model. Looking at it a second time I found myself blown away. This is a very wonderful composition, and would make a nice desktop image I think.
