For such a heavy train, that ROW nooks in dire need of undercutting, new ballast, runoff control and tamping. Wow, almost reminds me of photos I have seen of the Milwaukee Road mainline in western Washington.

Yeah, at the time they already started to replace the ballast, in the distance you can see at the side of the railroad amounts of contaminated ballast replaced by new one. The MoW standards have the same control and quality of class 1 north american railroads.
