Looks like a gorgeous piece of machinery that will only get better. Someone please tell me what the piping/rack is overhead ??? I can guess, but not sure.

Yes Tom, that is the cantenary apparatus and what it looks like when it's retracted and in the "folded" position. From this angle it does look a little "odd" above the roof of a GG1.

It looks like the pantograph is raised, but the contact shoe has been removed for the painting process.

To answer your question, there are no GG-1's in operation.
