Just out of curiosity what were the reasons, given by the transportation committee, for the shut down?

It is about time the ordinary people got together, over here as well, and said that not only did we want the decision reversed, but let's get these types of people out of their jobs. Sack them!.

One of my earliest train memories is riding a Fillmore and Western with my parents and grandparents in the early 90s. It is likely that if it weren't for the FWRy I wouldn't be into trains the way I am today, especially vintage trains and the history of the Santa Paula branch line. I sincerely hope this isn't the end for this historic branch line.

Update: The railroad is still running, as the courts are still letting them while there's a lull in the proceedings. Go out and see them run while you can!
