Thanks for posting the picture of this seldom photographed railroad, I used to drive over the railroad on the I 10 overpass and never saw any trains. Thanks

Look closely at The end of The Train, is that a Caboose ?, Also if you Google map this Mine, looks like there's still abandoned railroad hoppers still there, Along with the Ghost town, Thanks for Sharing

On November 3, 1981 ( 11 days prior to this photo) Kaiser Steel announced the phasing out of half the Fontana Mill and the closure of the entire Eagle Mountain Mine. all due to increased environmental concerns at the Fontana Mill and stiff foreign competition for steel.
