It may be very functional, but couldn't they (the loco designers) have spent a wee bit of time into aesthetics?

It would be simpler just to tow these locomotives to port on their own wheels, the way the EMD Class 66s were from London Ontario.

Opportunities to 'improve' aesthetics with such a loco are very limited in the UK due to having to fulfill lots of performance/safety criteria while being restricted by a low axle load limit (21.5 tonnes) and a small loading gauge.
I think Norfolk Southern will probably know the best way to transport these locomotives efficiently! The most likely reason they're on flat wagons and not running on their own wheels is that i think despite the US and UK running on standard gauge, the profile of the railhead in the UK is different.
