Man I wish I could be there for this move! Nice photo Chris, although I think it's just wrong to say that "Big BOY" is heading home to Cheyenne, Wyoming to restore ("her"?) to operational service. "Big BOY" was it's given name folks, not "Big GIRL"! Just like a cattle rancher knows you need a bull or two to keep the temperament of your cows in check, the UP "BIG BOY" was the BULL amongst the "cows" for the Union Pacific railroad. HE is the ONLY exception to calling a locomotive "SHE"! He's NOT transgender! Source: An old friend of mine who was a shop foreman for the UP in the heyday of "Big BOY" service and operations. (May he R.I.P.!)
