Are all these units scheduled to go back into service? I thought UP purged all the dash-8's from the roster.

no one would be lucky enough to have all the dash 8's gone entirely.

All of the -8's were scheduled to be sold off by UP. Because of the increase in business the -8's had to be brought out of storage. All of these units on the Sand Track were waiting their turn to go to the shop in order to be brought back into service. All 305 of UP's SD90's were forced in to storage because the frames were cracking. 2/3 of them are now in the long process being repaired while the remaining ones will be given back to EMD.
