I had to look twice at this photo as I thought that this was a vintage Virginian Railroad locomotive. It has the nose markings/paint of a vintage Virginian, but the local is...Australia? Is that paint scheme on the X31 an Oz version of or a nod to a Virginian "Heritage" unit? Great shot Ian, love the brightness of the exposure. Your vantage point is good too!

X31 is a preserved unit operated by the Seymour Rail Heritage Centre and currently on hire to Qube logistics. The livery is the former Victorian Railways scheme adapted from the Erie Railroad.
