I'm a diesel fan for sure, but there's something to be said of massive steam engines like the Big Boy and C&O's Allegheny type.

The fact that the crew was watching that closely makes you wonder why they allowed people to ride in the tender for that movement? Seems a bit on the dangerous side...

Looks like she's hauling her first passengers (in the tender). I'm sure they are not paying customers - just lucky rail fans.

The passengers were a mix of UP Steam Crew members, Railroad & Locomotive Historical Society members, security and a few special invited guest that rode different segments of the trip. And yes, they had a great time! - Steve Crise
