I just noticed that the leading locomotive's number is the same wheel arrangement of the Big Boy. Nice detail.

Just noticed that they used loco #4884, just like the wheel arrangement on the 4014.

That is completely bad-ass that UP used the SP heritage unit and the SD70 4884 to perform this move! I can not imagine a more interesting way to have done it. UP you earned some style points in my book for this.

Wow, it's almost like they planned that. 4884 just even happened to be freshly washed for the occasion, what a coincidence, right?

3 great locomotives in one photo! (did anyone else notice the number on the lead loco is the same as the wheel arrangement on the Big Boy? ) :-) Great photo Matthew, thanks for sharing it with us on RP.
And I think a PCA from me.

Nice catch rob216- I wonder if UP did that on purpose or if it was totally unplanned.

Nice to see the comparison size-wise between a Big Boy and a SD70.

I herd they will be using the SD70 4014 for one of the moves.
