Thanks Jeff and Dave. The former GN680 is still at work on MRL, abeit with a chopped nose, dynamic brakes and a modern engine starting device. The give away is the extra single headlight on the long hood. GN 679 and 680 had a single warning light above the normal twin sealed beam headlight. By 1969, 680's was still red, 679 was white. Also, there is still a GN "iron ore" SD9 parked at Interbay in Seattle. It would sure be nice to move that to the Duluth museum and get it back to GN.

I just found out that GN 558 is alive serving an elevator at Litchfield, MN. Quite a career for both of these locos.
