Fascinating. There used to be a house (billed as the only one of its kind in America) whose outside was made out of bauxite (aluminum ore) in Benton, AR, county seat of Saline County where the last and perhaps "only" working bauxite mines in the continental U.S. operated until the 1990s. The rock as I recall felt spongy, as if one could leave their fingerprint impressions on it. Brazil's a major aluminum producer so it's interesting to see this ore being transported on the MRS.
