Interesting. In Conrail days, the original symbol for the "Atlanta Flyer" (the NS-Conrail piggyback train from Atlanta to Northern NJ/NYC) was "TV234," which I take it meant the NS symbol for that train (at the time) was "234." The southbound counterpart was TV233. Later, it became "TV212/TV211," and the 212/211 symbols stick to those trains today, I believe. I really wish CSX and NS would go to an alpha train symbol system (ala BNSF) so that their train symbols actually meant something, without having a "cheat sheet."
