The signal on the pole could be a fix distant signal. It does not seem to have a housing large enough to host a mechanize.

Nice capture! I would have liked to be eating dinner at "Spaghetti Depot"--it has a great trackside view.

The WP had some fun installing signals along sidewalks and curbs in their (street running) day. This picture reminded me of a true Western Pacific block signal ostensibly on the sidewalk in Elko, NV, from earlier this year: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=433756&nseq=10

The tracks are long gone, but the green pole (minus the signal), the fire hydrant next to it, and the depot are still there!
