If you are broad-minded enough to look beyond North America's shores, you can still find amazing railroading scenes like this in late 2013. While the brakeman's hoodie gives this away as a contemporary photo, you can imagine this same scene a hundred or more years ago. Having been to this place myself some years ago, this photo appeals to many senses, including smell - I can smell hot steam and grease, smoke and the dense forest just by staring at this image.
