Love those FMs Joe. I am so gratified to seem the "old heads" breaking out the good stuff, getting tech savvy and sharing these treasures with the ages. Almost as good as being there!

As far as towing it back to the shop you might be correct. Originally EMD and GE intentionally made it impossible for them to run multiple unit with any loco' other than GM and GE. Fairbanks, ALCO, and Baldwin-Lima created MU capabilities so they could all MU, but EMD and GE refused to join them. The governor system joint partner was Woodward Governor out of Rockford Illinois.
