How are the DL class performing?

The DL class looks an interesting loco, this one is nice condition, when were they built John?

There were initial problems with first batch of DL but most of these have now been rectified and will hopefully not present in second batch that are being introduced. I personally don't like them being accustomed to locomotives with a hood or nose so they're a bit like a flat chested woman! They are also very noisy compared with the DFT. Perhaps we should have stayed with the American diesels! KiwiRail seem to be pleased with them but I wonder why they are buying so many when the AT trains that tie up lots of leased DC and DFT locos will almost all be electric within 18 months.

Is AT the Auckland suburban rail system?

Yes AT = Auckland Transport (trains, buses and ferries) formerly MAXX Regional Transport. The new trains from Spain will have AT livery.
