I remember when the Missouri Pacific gutted a few pullman cars to make sleeping cars for the rail gangs. Fairley nice after they were done. They were done in the Sedilia MO yard.

I worked on a switch and siding gang on the Rosette/Gliette expansion back in 79'. There were 85 of us on the gang. We had a complete Pullman setup we lived in. Kitchen car, ice car, shower car and sleeper cars there were even a bar and dinning car as well. They would park us in a yard on a siding. Bus us out to the tracks where we would build a switch cut the main and drop it in.
