This is an awesome photo! I must try the observation tower on my next trip in that direction. Is the old CP station still just inside the trees past the bend the train is passing through?

Beautiful scene!

Fantastic shot! Do it again in about 3 months? :) Both buildings are well preserved. The CP station still stands as a gallery, the CN station is multi-use: Parry Sound & Area Chamber of Commerce, Ontario Drivers and Vehicle licenses, as well as the VIA stop.

Thanks for the comments! To answer your question Bill, yes Canadian Pacific's station still remains on Avenue Road, just north of the curve. It sat dormant for over a decade in the late 90s until becoming an art gallery in the early 2000s. Thanks to the start of Directional Running in late 2005, the northbound VIA Canadian makes a thrice weekly stop at the old CP station, while the SB Canadian stops at the CN station in town.

I agree with Brian. This would also look great in the fall.
