These always strike me as being a slightly smaller, lighter, European version of the EP-5s GE built for the New Haven. Each well suited for their own operating environment.

I've looked at an awful lot of bogies here on RP. They sure look like they came off an ALCO product. All the "C" trucks I saw here on RP have the center axle offset towards the end of the loco, where these Italian ones look to be equidistant. Nevertheless, they look very similar. Coincidence?

It may be coincidence, or maybe there are influences at work ALCO. The bogies were manufactured in England. Thanks!
