This is actually between Maple Valley and Renton along Hwy 169. Not quite to Black River Jct yet. The Cedar River is in the background. I was able to see this scenic part of the Milwaukee Road in 1991 under Burlington Northern rule. From 1980 to 1992, BN ran locals to the lumber mill at Snoqualmie/ North Bend, WA on former Milwaukee rails. Washington State bought the track in 1992 and from Renton to Cedar Falls the right-of-way became a hiking trail and the short remainder of what once was the Cedar Falls to Monroe branch was abandoned. Very nice shot.
