Ok. I have to ask. As an engineer that "hostles" power on a daily basis, how does one reach the MU receptacle located above the door? 17 years as an engineer and I never had the honor of operating or MUing F units. Perhaps my day will come and I will be ready when no one else around has a clue LOL. I love the modernizations on this unit. Timken roller bearings, tight lock couplers and 3 (instead of 5) MU hoses. Very subtle but useful changes.

Yes, I have to say it was difficult unless you are 6' 5" and taller. I had a heck of a time installing the pass through light located directly across from the MU. Also as a hostler you would like to know that the front window on this side opens and you can stick your head out as you operate from the hostler controls under that window. Single chime horn and a bell makes for a very unusual movement.

Back in the 70's I observed a ATSF B unit being moved by itself around LAUPT in Los Angeles with the hostler poking his head out of the porthole, what a sight!Got a bunch of photos of it,when I learn more about putting them on this site,I will.
