Nice photo, Reed. I first heard the term "the Slot" from a veteran Great Northern helper crew back in 1968. I rode a light GN f-unit set from Sky to Merritt and the engineer, who when he first signed on was on a work train taking up the old line to Wellington, told me the G.N. crews gave it that name. I decided to revise it in "The Great Adventure." Nice to see an old G.N. tradition take hold and continue on.
