I would have truly enjoyed seeing a matching Cascade Green consist roll by. Watching a beautiful train roll by with color/pattern maintained throughout the length of the consist draws ones devoted attention to watching the entire train roll by. I would have loved to have seen SP's Daylight, PRR's Broadway Limited, NP's Empire Builder or a string of polished stainless steel that made up Santa Fe's Super Cheif. With the exception of a few consists, today we see ensembles of various cars with no consistancy in color or pattern. And most of them are not painted to match the locomotives used. I am fortunate to have several coal cars roll by my home daily. I often see hoppers of fallen flags as part of the consist. While it's great to see they're still working these days, it doesn't compare to seeing a beautiful matching consist. Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo.
