An awesome photo of real railroading . Remember those days well . At Eola near Aurora, Illinois , we'd use old pieces of wood from flats or box cars to build a fire in middle of yard by high switch . Sure was nice . Al in Aurora . Retired BNSF engr as of 4/11/13

What a great human interest story this tells. Most rail fans would go for a photo of the engine, where as, Chris, you got the real story. Thank you for sharing.

As a railroader myself, I enjoy the human interest shots of railroading more than I enjoy the pictures of trains themselves. Fantastic shot!
