Do not set up on the ROW PERIOD! Not only is the photographer/ videographer standing on the right of way, he has his back to the oncoming line. One could assume the train would be blowing its horn but if you're taking your material from a safe location, you don't have to worry about looking your life for that 'perfect shot'.
