Check out that feedwater heater enclosure. It will be a different 4501. Nevertheless, bring it on!

Always good to see an E-unit in a covered shop with plans for the future rather than in the elements rusting away and often headed for a scrapper..

I know I'm going to get blasted for saying this, but please God don't let them paint it green....freight black with black tires.....

If 4501 is to be basic black, then please paint her and letter her for the Stearns Coal & Lumber Co. The owners of Stearns Coal & Lumber Co. saved three steamers from a southern Railway dead line in Huntingburg Indiana. If nor for that fact then there would not have been a 4501 for Paul Mearman to find. Some of the locomotives at Cass are lettered for their former owners, Why not 4501.

From the looks of the metal, the 4501 almost looks like a new contruction! Good job guys on the restoration.

So what are the plans for that E?

The E unit is under restoration and has been for quite sometime. I read somewhere that it might run this year, 4501 will run this year for sure!
