It still seems odd to see stack trains in the coalfields. (Those colorful BNSF units look a tad out of place, too!) The comments about the snow-covered yard tracks are right on!

This is a very interesting image. The pattern of the rails, the snow, the brightly colored BNSF units contrasting with the snow....very nice.

From observation of the picture I noticed that some of the inner yard tracks, closer to the eye all have bolted plates to the rails. What is the reasoning for this?
