The red automobile in the photo should not be confused with Ford Mustangs, as it was built by American Motors Corporation.

Are you sure that is a AMC Javelin? It sure looks like a 69 or 70 Ford Mustang.

The AMC was shorter from the back of the doors to the rear bumper than on the Mustangs. The hubcaps also are AMC and Joe's wonderful photo is dated August 1972, before the Fords you mentioned were built.
