I wish i'd got to see the Milwaukee in action. Lovely SD40-2 outline here. Looks like the orange hood has been painted too high with a black line below it?!

Odd sight...I remember that unit as being one of the ten SD40-2's that worked on Soo Line before the two companies were fully integrated. It arrived on Soo rails in good paint in March 1985.

Was that a lesser capacity fuel tank? Most SD's I see have a tank that runs the full distance from driver to driver.

The Milwaukee used small fuel tanks on many of their diesels in order to reduce axle loadings on their network of often 'rickety' branch lines.
