Here's another nice photo that I appreciate but I would sure appreciate an explanation from someone who knows. Is this an ordinary event on rail like this or was it a an unusual event ?? Probably not, but why here and what keeps this from eventually derailing ? BNSF coal trains whip through my town of Jacksonville, IL several times daily and I know the rails are prepared for their loads. What would be the difference in weight ratings ? Not a well-written question, but I, and others, would appreciate a bit more info..

I would like to know how much of this problem is the rail weight and how much is it caused by bad ballasting of the track? Or a bit of both?
