The back end of the Geep looks unusual; I'd be interested in hearing more about this unit.

I was a VRE engineer from 1994 until we (Amtrak) lost the operating contract in July 2010.This engine was from North Carolina DOT,it was rebuilt in Canada.The HEP was crammed into the carbody.This engine was always having problems,a real shop queen.

I drive by Hill AFB on a regular basis. It's nice to see a recent arrival there. Not only do I see the locos in RED there, but I have also seen an earlier Baldwin Switcher. It will be nice to look for the V24, V21 and V22. Utah is loaded with all sorts of RR traffic other than just U.P. NICE PHOTO.

The VRE locos were bought by the Army as part of a plan to run a train from Fort Lee to AP Hill training areas, I hope they are in Utah for an over haul and not for storage. I notice also one of the Army's new Gensets in the rear of the pic too....
