I am always amazed how people dressed back then especially when they travel by train. Men wore suits and women wore dresses or skirts. You don't see anyone dressed in what we call "leisure clothing". You don't see 1 passenger in blue jeans or shorts. While every passenger is well dressed, not many men are wearing hats as they did back in the 1920's through the 1940's. The automobile appears to be a late 40's/early 50's model. So, I'd have to guess this photo was shot in the early 1950's. I love the polished corrugated stainless steel used to skin many passenger cars back then. In my mind, no paintjob will ever compare to that shiny finish. And no ones on a cellphone either. Whatever it is can wait. Uh, the good ol days that weren't very long ago.

I AGREE with the previous poster, exept, please notice the blond-haired women at the photo center who IS wearing blue jeans. Probably a "fashion statement" for that era.

That green "San Diegan" drumhead is pretty neat too.
