Would somebody please explain to me what is meant by the term, "Tunnel Motor"?

A “Tunnel Motor” is a SD40/45-2 built by Electro-Motive Division with a special cooling system where cool air is drawn through an intake just above frame level and forced through a radiator out a top vent, instead of air being drawn in through roof mounted radiator fans. Both Rio Grande and Southern Pacific found that the increased cooling capacity of this system greatly improved locomotive engine cooling inside long/frequent tunnels. This locomotive was built new by EMD and had a SD40/45T-2 EMD designation, and acquired the nickname “Tunnel Motors.”

Very cool human interest shot, Mike. And well done with the sense of movement. Very dramatic. Thanks for sharing!
