Congratulations. Every time I was in Vaughn (more times than I can count but in the '70s) I hoped for a shot like this but never got one. This one if fabulous.

Great shot, Drew. The anticipation must have driven you wild. Oh but for a Santa Fe Super Fleet pig train meeting SP GP60s and double stacks. Ahhhh.

What great timing, luck or did you have an idea this could line up?

Frank, it was pure luck. We heard the UP train coming into town for a crew change, and had a westbound BNSF train with solid UP power(patched SP and a SD70M) waiting at the end of double track for some eastbounds. So I set up at this location, hoping to get an over under with that UP powered BNSF train, but just as the UP train took off from its crew change, we saw the BNSF Z train coming west, running around the UP powered BNSF train. The rest is history! :)

Well, however it worked out nicely done. Having been here myself I can honestly say I am just a bit jealous.

Truly amazing shot Drew, captures both western carriers at their finest. Symbols for both trains is the icing on the cake for me!
