A black beauty with a bloody nose. Only thing that could have made this picture better against that wonderul blue sky with billowing clouds would have been the sight of what I know must have been the caboose at the end of the 4 unit consist. I've learned to count gas tanks for the right number. Great picture Mr. Belmont.

sorry...wrote the comment before I read the remarks and I would have known for sure there were 4 of them.

Another Beauty! Don't burn out that Plustek James! We want to see more! I was at the 17th south grade crossing a few weeks ago when 7 engines in groups of 3 and 4 passed by on parallel tracks heading from the Roper yards to North Salt Lake. Quite a site! A couple of them had other Road colors, one of them SP. I've seen that one in the NSL yards before, but I can't remember the engine number. Snapped a couple of frames on Ektar 100 but of dubious image quality with midday lighting and shadows. Thanks James for all these excellent images! Regards, Kelly

They took the time in the shop to remove the class lights and fill the holes perfectly, but left the L-shaped engineers window and lights untouched. By 1986, all three were bound for extinction.
