That appears to be a pretty steep grade...a passenger only line, perhaps?

Thank you for your interest.
Grades on the High Speed Line between Paris and Lyon reach commonly 3,5 %.
Only one freight train ran to 124 mph each night on this High Speed Line but run now since 2 years on classic line because the time saver was not significant.
