In the '60s, some nights there would be 4 or 5 of these forest products trains passing down through Roseville and on to Fresno and points south and east. We called them PNLs, which I thought stood for Pacific Northwest Lumber, but I am guessing. These locomotives were awful when you had to switch cars with them.
