Was this a remote control unit (seeing that the windows are all covered over)?

Always nice to see pictures from way back when. Looks like it could be an electric since there is no exhaust and the radiator grills are covers over.

The exhaust stack located over the former radiator area indicates repowered with either Caterpillar or Cummins diesel engine. These were operated by an employee standing in the front step well, note only the bottom step remains.
