That is pier 86 the wheat dock. Cargill leased it from Port Of Seattle. I.L.W.U Longshoremen make it work. We unload the grain trains and it goes up the silos and before it is loaded into the ships it has to be graded by the USDA grain inspectors. By the color of the grain I can tell you that their loading corn. The ship is just about full. Once loaded to proper weight and all papers signed the tugs are called and the lines are let loose and the tugs gently nudge her in the out bound lane for the long journey across the pacific. The amount of grain these ships hold in their 7 hatches is amazing. I cant believe they stay afloat. 57149.
