Nice job lensing this one through the slivers of last light (or first light), the IC power doesn't have much on those mountains!

Great shot...its just amazing how, in the middle of summer, the IC power with air conditioning disappears to Canada, while US crews suffer in Canadian style insulated cabs.

And yet the canadian crews absolutely detest the 1000s, which is why they are rarely seen leading anything up here in Alberta

Odd comment to make huh ..... I suppose Alberta has been seeing temperatures of 105 F for the last month like the midwest and south has, creating 120 F heat indexes inside the locomotive cabs. Sorry, summer is not equal the continent over. If it were January, I wouldn't expect locomotives with drafty cabs and poor heaters to be in Alberta while the best insulated and heated cabs are in Louisiana. I suppose that, just like the CN power desk, someone who is not affected by CN's locomotive assignments would think it was an odd comment.
