Interesting photo showing the range of greens among the locomotives at Spencer.

Bill - first of all THANKS - now regarding this photo, I have captioned it for ERN as the darkest shade of green on the PC to the lightest/brightest shade on the IT. This was the best contrast of greens that I captured in one shot at Spencer.

Question...I thought the PC units were all painted black...did NS paint this particular PC unit in PRR's brunswick green?

Frank - the original PC scheme was actually Brunswick Green from the leftover PRR paint that was available. NS followed that particular early scheme as they originally had intended to do it black, but changed it around June 12. Eastern Railroad News is going to do an extensive feature on the heritage units after exclusive interviews with the design team for them, which should be available this weekend.
