It's disappointing to know the BN repainted this not long after. Way to supports your troops...

Actually, this SD60M painted in patriotic colors was never repainted by BN. It finally received a coat of BNSF Heritage II paint and renumbered 9299 in May of 2000. By then, the white paint of this coal hauling motor was beginning to get quite shabby, and needed it new paint anyway. Nine years in red, white and blue isn’t too bad!
