Great photo! Just rode my mountain bike through Snoqualmie tunnerl last fall. So much has changd since this shot. Get nostalgic everytime I see the Black & Orange in Washington.

As with SP and CPR on passenger locos, MILW installed icicle breakers on the top back of some locos. The cables (on both sides) allowed crews to retract them without climbing atop the locos.

This photo was taken on my first birthday. What a gem, too! I like the fresh angle on Hyak. The trolley is gone, the rails dilapidated, the grand brick substation eerily quiet. Sad to see such a proud railroad in such bad shape.
