Hmmmm. She needs some paint work, while they're at it, how about putting a pair of 12/645Es, with a pair of generators, D77 motors, a place to run her (WMSR?). So, why not do this? Money. I get that.

Y'know... cmdrflake, that's not a bad idea at all! Heck, if the fine folks at the Illinois Railway Museum can do it with their beautifully restored and operable E5(A) Nebraska Zephyr, why not? Recall, the Zephyr not only operates a few times per year at the Museum, but also has traveled off grounds, just recently to Iowa for Train Festival 2011.

One thing they could do which would cost less that complete restoration is to put a replica of her original pilot on 'er. Then a little putty and paint. She was a beautiful machine at one time! Still a pretty fair looker.
