W/B, led by the 6600 missed a "take siding" on their trainorders and nailed the E/B (4408) in a curve about 4 miles past the meet location. 4408 scrapped, 6600 rebuilt by EMD into the 6617. We had another head-on in the area within a few years of this one IIRC. Always found it interesting that with so few trains up on that part of the Soo, you could run them together a couple of times in just a few years.
